Practice Schedule

This week, we have regular practices for all groups. Next week (April 8–12), we do not have practice (spring break.)

Saturday West Valley Games

12U Team

Coach Natasha

Game 1: Mid-Pen vs Stanford A—Win

The 12U’s came ready to play and brought much energy to our first game! Knowing they had no subs to start, their communication and safe passes secured an early lead.

The second half was similar to the first but with added relief from Leo. The defense was evenly matched, and Max shut down the few counters that got by.

Game 2: Mid-Pen vs Lamo Brent—Win

Another set of back-to-back games for the 12Us, and that first game energy followed to the second, with some added help from Leo, Declan, and Mitchell. This game proved more challenging than the previous one, but they were cleverly divided and conquered. Ryan and Aman covered defense, shutting down one-on-ones while Avery, Mason, Leo, and Declan drove our offensive plays.

A huge shout out and thank you to Connor, who stepped up to be our second game goalie and successfully stopped many goals! I also want to thank Leo, Declan, and Mitchell for helping!

14U

Coach Steven

Game 1: 6-10 Loss to West Valley

We had a competitive first game of the day where we stayed close but couldn’t quite catch up to a strong team. Some early mistakes on defense quickly gave our opponents a lead, but we made adjustments and improved defensively throughout the game. We were able to slow the West Valley attack in the second half but could not quite keep up offensively.

Our players showed growth as they could learn from their mistakes quickly and make necessary adjustments within the game.

Game 2: 11-8 Win vs. Lamo Brentwood

We had a nice, short break between games, but we had to balance players with the 12U game going on simultaneously. Thanks to Woodside freshmen Toby Yuen and Cole Richards for helping out on short notice. The two provided much-needed support and energy on both sides of the pool.

This game was an offensive showcase as multiple players scored multiple goals, and even goalie Max Stevenson scored a half-court shot. Intense defense led to numerous counterattacks by Toby Yuen, while Riley Allegri scored two goals on outside shots. Angelo Fraumeni scored two goals, one from the center position and another off a second-chance rebound.

Overall, this was a successful day, with two competitive games against strong opponents. We were also lucky to finish our second game before lightning and thunder showed up.

April 27 Bay Area Water Polo League

The 16U/18U team will not play on April 27. Only five players can play since the PAL Swim finals are on that day. The coaches are looking to schedule some scrimmages on another date.
