We can't believe we're already in the second to last week of the season! We're continuing with regular practices this week, so please make sure your athlete is ready to work hard as we approach the season's end.
A special shoutout to our 12U and 14U teams participating in the West Valley League this past Sunday. Both teams showed incredible improvement, and their hard work is paying off!
Here's a quick recap of the games:
12U Team
Coach Adam
Game 1 vs. Stanford C: A tough match against a formidable opponent.
Game 2 vs. West Valley: We started strong, but WV caught up and lost by 2. The athletes who made the goals were Phoenix: 3, Aman: 1, Theo: 1, Ian: 1, and David: 1.
14U Team
Coach Steven
Game 1 vs. Euroskill
This game was tough, considering our two teams' age and skill gaps. The Euroskill players looked like proper 14-year-olds with considerable experience. Despite the tough odds, we found a rhythm in the second half and scored some goals.
Our opponents quickly answered with goals of their own. The score was quite lopsided, not in our favor, but it was good to see our stamina, skill, and teamwork improvements.
Game 2 vs. SJA
The opposing team was short on players, so we decided to help them out so we could play 6v6. Tahir and Taeed lost in a game of chance, so they played for SJA. Sharing players worked out because it meant everyone could have maximum playing time.
Our improved fundamentals and stamina were displayed as we played aggressive team defense and found many ways to score. Johnny Andeen had several goals from hole-set, while Jack Harris, Bodhi Duffey, Mitchell Buck, and Declan McNamara added more goals on drives and outside shots.
The boys showed how much they've grown in several weeks of training. So, there is much optimism for our upcoming final tournament in the fall and for the future.
Let's keep this momentum going as we enter the season's final stretch. The SportEngine app has everything up-to-date if you have any questions or need to check the schedule.
